Most garages have plenty of space — it's just poorly organized. Here's a system that works for any workshop size.

Start with Vertical Space

Walls are the most underutilized storage area in most garages. Pegboard panels and magnetic tool strips get hand tools off the bench and onto the wall, freeing up workspace for actual projects. A 4x8 pegboard panel holds an entire wall of hand tools in less than 1 square foot of floor space.

Mobile Storage Over Fixed Cabinets

Steel tool carts with locking casters give you storage that moves where you work. Instead of walking back and forth to a fixed cabinet, roll your tools to the project. Look for carts with 200+ lb capacity ratings and locking casters that actually stay put.

Parts Organization

Small parts — screws, nails, washers, electrical connectors — are the biggest source of workshop clutter. A parts bin cabinet with clear front bins lets you see contents without opening each bin. Label every bin, even if it seems obvious. You'll thank yourself in six months.

Zoning Your Workshop

Divide your garage into zones: tool storage, workbench, parts/hardware, and large equipment. Keep related items together — power tools near outlets, hand tools near the bench, fasteners near the assembly area. This reduces walking time and keeps projects moving.

The 30-Minute Rule

If a storage solution takes more than 30 minutes to install, it won't get installed. Choose organizers that mount with included hardware and minimal tools. Our pegboard panels and magnetic strips install in under 15 minutes with a drill and level.
